A strong 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Idaho, according to the country’s Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake’s epicenter was located 10 miles east of the city of Soda Springs, at a depth of 5.2 miles.
A few moments before the 5.3 magnitude earthquake, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred, with the epicenter 9 miles to the east of that city.
In addition, after the earthquake there have been multiple tremors of magnitudes between 2.5 and 4.1.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center, there are reports that tremors were also felt in the state of Wyoming, which is near the epicenter of the earthquake.
According to Fox Channel 13, several residents of the Wasatch Front metropolitan area in neighboring Utah have reported experiencing the tremor.
Idaho is near the Yellowstone Park supervolcano. The city of Soda Springs, which has a population of about 3 thousand people, is located about 260 km from the park.
At the moment, it is not known if there have been any victims or property damage following the earthquake.
